It is my honor to “step up” to the position of President of the Hudson Valley NY Chapter of HFMA. Please join me in thanking my predecessor, Sharon M. Lucian, FHFMA, Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, Stellaris Health Network for her commitment and dedication to the chapter during her year as President. I have been fortunate to be able to learn from not only Sharon, but also from many of our Past Presidents and feel well prepared to build upon the successes enjoyed over the last several years.
It is my pleasure to introduce the rest of our Chapter’s 2010-2011 leadership team: William Scheuermann, President Elect; Matthew J. Knaus, Secretary; Kristen Zebrowski, Treasurer; Kristin Cash-Holland, Education Program Chair; Joanna Schaffer, Brian B. Shea, Angela M. Skretta, Directors. Our leadership team is looking forward to the challenge of providing membership with first-class educational programming for all personnel levels, including comprehensive webinars that make it easy and convenient to stay informed without ever having to leave the office. Of course, it takes more than a dedicated leadership team to make this happen. Our chapter is privileged to have many capable volunteers and generous sponsors that help make the chapter run smoothly. We would like to thank them in advance for their invaluable contributions.
The 2010-2011 HFMA National theme is “Step Up”. Now that Healthcare Reform has passed and the responsibility of interpreting and implementing it lies ahead, it is critical that healthcare organizations stay up to date with the latest information. Now is the perfect time for you to “Step Up”. Take advantage of your HFMA membership and attend a Chapter meeting or join a committee. My participation in HFMA has had a tremendous impact on my professional development. Most notably, it has afforded me the ability to learn firsthand from industry experts, and establish a lifelong network of peers to consult with. I am confident that becoming an active member can do the same for you.

Throughout the year we will have a Calendar of Events posted, along with sections pertaining to Committees, News and Resources, Professional Development and Membership. This past year we have also begun using the website to post event material so that attendees will have access to sessions electronically.
